It's going to be particularly difficult to explain to your kids or grandkids that you are dying a totally preventable illness.
- Beauty – Even if you don't care too much about your health, there's a good chance you will care about your appearance. We can easily spend a fortune every year on perfumes, cosmetics, moisturizers and other beauty treatments. The problem is that it might just be money down the drain if you are a smoker. Smoking is linked to skin damage, bad breath, yellow teeth and also hair loss.
- Costs – In terms of the financial costs, for a smoker who smokes about 20 cigarettes a day will end up spending $1,700 a year. Think about all the things you could spend your money on if you had that at your disposal. Perhaps you could use it towards buying a new car, having a new kitchen installed or even going on an amazing vacation.
- Relationships – As a smoker, you might not realize that non-smokers think that you stink of cigarette smoke. It's not at all pleasant either and no amount of perfume will really disguise it. So if you are currently single and looking for a partner, you might find it more difficult if you smoke. Most non-smokers just don't want to date a smoker.
